My name is Christie Hammond, and I’m the principal of Essential Accounting Support. I grew up in Seattle/Eastside, studied accounting at Bellevue College, and for 26 years, I’ve worked with local small businesses, working with and organizing their financial records.
I love what I do. I find joy (yes, really) in solving problems–specifically, putting financial records in order, and seeing that contribute to the success of my clients. I believe deeply in the promise of small business, and the great things that the entrepreneurial spirit can do, both for business and the community at large.
In 2010, I started Essential Accounting Support so that I could do the work I love for small businesses in the community I love. I understood the importance of the work I do, and as a small business owner myself, I understand the other issues–local and otherwise–that we need to deal with in order to be successful.
Essential Accounting Support has found success because we concentrate on building relationships, rather than client lists. We all benefit on every level from the success of the people we work for: as a company; as people; as members of the community.
One of the benefits of being in business is meeting and getting to know professionals in a variety of occupations. Being able to recommend those professionals to my clients makes us all stronger together. I invite you to visit our Resources page to find both useful links for your business and local professionals we recommend.

“I have worked with Christie now for about 7 years and have been super-pleased with her knowledge, service and skills.
She is very dependable, thorough, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with as well! I take great satisfaction in knowing that my books are all in order and in good hands. I highly recommend Christie.”
